# MKM + DSK Zimone Lands

- Format: casual multiplayer Commander, 100 cards including the commander.
- Commander: Zimone, All-Questioning (DSK 366).
- Colors: green and blue.
- Key card in the 99: Overlord of the Hauntwoods (DSK 395, foil).
- List: [mkm-dsk-zimone.csv](mkm-dsk-zimone.csv); the commander is the first row.
- Composition: 1 commander, 31 other creatures, 30 other spells, 38 lands.
- Sources: only the recorded MKM and Duskmourn openings, plus basic lands.
- Status: proposal, not a record of cards removed from available inventory.

Overlord is not legendary, so it cannot be the commander under normal Commander
rules. Zimone rewards the land tokens it creates. This list uses different
physical copies from [Rakdos 60](../../casual-60/mkm-dsk-rakdos/README.md), so both
proposals can be assembled at the same time.

## Game plan

1. Establish green and blue mana, play a cheap mana creature, and cast Zimone.
Prioritize normal land drops; the early prime land counts are 2, 3, 5 and 7.
2. Develop lands with Overlord, They Went This Way, Moldering Gym and Aftermath
Analyst. Walk-In Closet lets you replay lands from your graveyard. Draw and
filter with Oblivious Bookworm, Paranormal Analyst, Deduce and the blue Rooms.
3. Protect Zimone or a key attacker with counters and Airtight Alibi. Use Enter
the Enigma or Clammy Prowler to get a large Primo through blockers. Overlord,
copies of it, and your other large creatures provide an alternative finish.

Keep an opening hand with about three lands, access to both colors, and an early
play or card selection. Two-land hands need reliable help finding lands. Avoid
hands dominated by expensive creatures. Cycle Topiary Panther or Daggermaw
Megalodon when you need lands; Nervous Gardener can find Hedge Maze.

## Important interactions

- Zimone checks both conditions when the end step begins and when its ability
resolves: a land must have entered under your control that turn, and your
current land count must be prime. A late land entry cannot create a trigger
that did not happen. Do not skip essential development just to stay prime.
- Primo is legendary. When you make another, choose one to keep under the legend
rule; counters do not transfer. Primo's damage is not commander damage.
- Overlord creates a land when it enters even if cast for its impending cost.
While impending keeps it from being a creature, it cannot attack or be copied
  by Mirror Room's creature-targeting ability. Doppelgang can still target it;
a token copy does not copy its time counters and enters as a 6/5 creature.
- Mirror Room can copy an active Overlord or another useful creature. Do not
copy Primo for its counters: counters are not copied. Fractured Realm doubles
triggered abilities, but it does not bypass the legend rule for Primo.
- A Room is one card. Cast one door and unlock the other at sorcery speed. Keys
to the House can unlock an expensive door such as Fractured Realm for its own
activation cost. Walk-In Closet does not grant additional land plays.
- Manifest dread does not grant ward. Turning Branch of Vitu-Ghazi face up
changes your land count but does not make a land enter the battlefield again.
- Say Its Name is here for milling and returning a creature or land to hand.
Its three-copy activation is not available in this singleton list.

This is a pool-limited casual deck, not a competitive build. Interaction is
mostly single-target, and there is no reliable tutor for Overlord. The deck must
function through Zimone, card draw and other threats when Overlord is not drawn.

## List conventions

The CSV uses the same 24 columns, in the same order, as
[Hare Raising](../../../precons/theme-decks/hare-raising/cards.csv).
Nonbasic metadata is copied from the recorded opening's selected printing.
`Quantity_Regular` and `Quantity_Foil` reflect the selected copies and add up to
`Quantity_Total`. `Value_USD` uses those quantities and the saved export prices,
not live prices. Only basic lands have more than one copy by card name.

The mana base includes 18 Forests, 14 Islands and 6 nonbasic lands. Enough basics
are assumed available; their printing, condition, price and image fields are
blank. Basic quantities use `Quantity_Regular` as a planning convention, not a
verified finish. No cards are taken from precons or The Hobbit for this proposal.
